HOME INFORMATION PACKS SUSPENDED – ENERGY PERFORMANCE CERTIFICATES REMAIN IN FORCE
The new coalition Government has announced the suspension of Home Information Packs with immediate effect from 21 May 2010. However, The Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) will be retained. Sellers will still be required to commission, but do not need to have received an EPC before marketing their property. However, the EPC must be present within 28 days of the property being placed on the market.

COMMERCIAL ENERGY PERFORMANCE CERTIFICATES
From October 2008 all commercial properties going on the market for sale or rent need a Commercial Energy Performance Certificate (EPC).
